Concorrenza e Mercato 2010La rivista annuale CONCORRENZA E MERCATO indice un Call for Papers per la pubblicazione sul prossimo numero (2011). Gli articoli dovranno vertere su “Il nuovo regolamento di esenzione delle restrizioni verticali” (Reg. 330/2010 che sostituisce, dal 1 giugno 2010, il Reg. 2790/1999).
Gli articoli possono essere scritti in italiano o in inglese. Scadenze: Gli articoli vanno inviati via email a concorrenzaemercato@gmail.com entro il 31 ottobre 2010
L’accettazione delle proposte sarà comunicata entro il 13 dicembre 2010. Gli articoli corretti in base alle indicazioni devono essere inviati allo stesso indirizzo entro il 30 dicembre 2010. Gli articoli non devono essere stati pubblicati né accettati per la pubblicazione da altre riviste.
Una selezione di massimo otto articoli sarà presentata in occasione della Prima Conferenza Annuale di CONCORRENZA E MERCATO che si terrà a febbraio 2011. Gli articoli definitivamente rivisti saranno pubblicati nel n. 2011 di CONCORRENZA E MERCATO.

Premio per la migliore tesi di dottorato in concorrenza

Durante la Prima Conferenza Annuale di CONCORRENZA E MERCATO verrà conferito un premio alla tesi di dottorato che ha contribuito in maniera sostanziale ed originale alle conoscenze in materia di diritto ed economia della concorrenza. Per accedere alla selezione le tesi di dottorato, scritte in italiano o in inglese, devono essere state discusse negli ultimi due anni accademici (da ottobre 2008 fino al 15 ottobre 2010).
Le domande devono essere presentate dall’autore delle tesi, congiuntamente al tutor di tesi, e devono contenere: • due copie cartacee della tesi (non saranno considerate copie elettroniche); • due copie firmate del modulo di domanda (v. sotto).

International Property Law Conference (Pretoria, 28-29 October 2010)

University of PretoriaAn International Property Law Conference will be held on 28-29 October 2010 at the University of South Africa, Pretoria, South Africa.
We hereby invite you to submit an abstract of your paper to be presented at the conference.The topics (and sessions) for the conference are the following:

  1. Basic Principles of Property Law (Keynote speaker: Prof. em. Dr. Dr.h.c. H P Westermann, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany
  2. Acquisition of Ownership (Keynote speaker: Mr Justice L Mpati, President, Supreme Court of Appeal, South Africa)
  3. Real Security Law (Keynote speaker: Dr AJM Steven, University of Edinburgh, Scotland
  4. Constitutional Property Law (Keynote speaker: Prof AJ Van der Walt, Professor of Law and South African Research Chair in Property Law, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa)
Apart from the keynote speakers the conference will also include numerous papers from practitioners, teachers and researchers (each speaker will have twenty minutes to present his/her paper). We invite you to respond to this Call for Papers. The deadline for submission of your proposal (a title and short abstract - 350 words) is 15 February 2010. Proposals will be reviewed within two weeks of submission. Please confine your topic to one of those listed above. Conference proceedings will be published in a peer reviewed conference publication. After four editions, Finlawmetrics has established itself as a unique forum for analysis and discussion of the most relevant issues related to the evolution of thinking and practice in the fields of central banking, financial regulation and supervision. The initiative is scientifically promoted by three leading  research centres: The Paolo Baffi Centre on Central Banking and Financial Regulation (Bocconi University), the European Banking Center (Tilburg University) and the Center on Central Banks and Financial Institutions (New York University). The current crisis has raised important questions about the changing face of central banking, the design of financial regulation and supervision and the compatibility of monetary and financial stability. Therefore, the 2010 edition wishes to address the key issues that are emerging for the design of post-crisis policies and institutions. The Steering Committee welcomes theoretical and empirical papers that shed light on the different causes of change in, and their consequences for, central banking, regulation and supervision.

The Conference will focus on the relationships between aspects of central banking, regulation and supervision on the one hand, and banking and financial markets, on the other hand. Submissions by academics in economics and/or in law are welcomed.
Topics of specific interest for the upcoming Conference include: Regulatory Reform after the Crisis, Economics and Political Economy of Central Banking, Economics and Political Economy of Regulation and Supervision, Central Banking and Supervision, Governance of Central Banks and Regulators

Papers will be presented in session presentations of 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of plenary discussion. No more than 16 papers will be presented and overall participation at the workshop will be limited to 60 people.
Authors are invited to submit completed papers electronically (MS Word or PDF format). The first page of the paper should contain the title; name of the author(s), complete address, telephone, fax numbers and E-mail addresses. All submitted papers must be accompanied by an abstract of at least 250 words, but no more than 400. Authors may also be asked to serve as session chair and/or discussant.

After the Finlawmetrics presentation authors of accepted papers can submit their papers for possible publication consideration in the Journal of Financial Stability (JFS) using a special procedure, following the Elsevier rules of the game at the following website: http://ees.elsevier.com/jfs/.
Please mention about FINLAWMETRICS 2010 in the cover letter to the editor. All submissions will be considered through the normal review process without any submission fee. In case a particular paper is not a match with the journal's mission and current objectives and goals, the Editors will inform the author within two weeks of the submission. Once sent to the reviewers, it usually takes around 6-12 weeks for the first round of reviews.

NEW STUDIES IN COMPARATIVE LAW

L’AIDC, dato il grande e unanime successo della manifestazione di Macerata 2008, ha pensato di organizzare una seconda occasione di incontro con tutti i giovani studiosi della materia che si terrà, per il grazioso interessamento di Ermanno Calzolaio, nell’ Università di Macerata il 23 e 24 maggio 2008.
A tal fine si invitano tutti i giovani studiosi a sottoporre relazioni, della durata di circa 20 minuti, cui seguirà discussione, su temi che possano presentare profili di novità e interesse per la materia, vuoi per il soggetto trattato, vuoi per i risultati raggiunti, vuoi anche per il diverso profilo o la diversa luce gettata su argomenti già solcati.
La selezione delle relazioni verrà effettuata secondo gli standard internazionali da un comitato di referees che verrà presieduto dal prof. Roberto Pardolesi.
Si invitano pertanto gli interessati ad inviare entro e non oltre il 3 febbraio 2010 il riassunto di 1 cartella del loro intervento, corredato con l’indicazione delle proprie opere di riferimento non maggiore di un’altra cartella (max 2 cartelle) all’indirizzo di posta elettronica dei Giovani Comparatisti giovanicomparatisti@gmail.com

The Irish Society of Comparative Law

General Meeting & Call for Papers

The Irish Society of Comparative Law (ISCL) will hold (i) its inaugural Autumn Lecture on 26 November 2009 at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and (ii) its Annual General Meeting and Conference on 5-6 March 2010 at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The ISCL Autumn Lecture will be delivered by Professor Esin Örücü (School of Law, University of Glasgow). Her paper is entitled ‘A Comparatist’s Analysis of the Convergence of Legal Systems’. The lecture will be delivered from 5.00pm – 6.30pm in Room 11 of the first floor of the Law School, 39 New Square, Trinity College Dublin. Admission is free and a light refreshment will be available after the lecture.
A Call for Papers has also been issued for the ISCL Annual General Meeting & Conference. Papers placing Irish law in comparative perspective are especially encouraged, but any topic in comparative law or legal systems may be proposed: private or public law, criminal law and criminal justice, legal education, legal history, etc. Papers on European or international law will also be considered. Proposals should be short (250 words) and sent to b.dickson@qub.ac.uk. The deadline for receipt of proposals is 8 January 2010. You do not have to be a member of the Association to propose a paper. Proposals will be responded to within a week of being received.
The Annual General Meeting and plenary address will take place on Friday 5 March. Conference sessions and the conference dinner will take place on Saturday 6 March. Registration forms and additional information will be available shortly.

Il saggio potrà essere inerente una tematica della Proprietà Intellettuale e dovrà avere una lunghezza non superiore a 8000 parole. I tre saggi ritenuti migliori verranno menzionati sul sito web dell’ATRIP e gli autori verranno invitati alla conferenza del 2010, che si terrà a Stoccolma, per la presentazione dei loro lavori. Il termine per la presentazione dei lavori è il 31 agosto 2009.
